Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer says his organization has obtained documents from China’s Propaganda Department that detail their sophisticated approach to using TikTok as a tool to manipulate American youth. “They want to get people to reject their historical past, to reject historical symbols, national historical symbols. And of course, we’ve seen all the work that’s gone on about tearing down monuments, etcetera. That’s exactly what China wants the United States to do and they’re encouraging it,” Schweizer says. “Because they say once you start to reject your past, you are now open to a new set of ideas and beliefs, which they are going to push.”
