Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN-02) says if Speaker Mike Johnson were to vacate his chair then there is a hard reality to face afterwards. "You have several liberal Republicans, and in those districts Biden won by 15 points," Burchett said. "Those people are vulnerable. They know they have a race on their hands. For some unknown reason, Biden is still very popular in some of these areas. If we vacate the chair then I believe without a doubt that we will hand the [speaker's] gavel over to Hakeem Jeffries."
