The American Conservative Political Editor Bradley Devlin was asked about an assertion that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries would do less damage to the nation than a swamp/sewer Republican. "I think it is incorrect to say Hakeem Jeffries would do less damage. The speaker has a lot of power. The speaker gets to determine everything that goes on in the inner workings of the House of Representatives," Devlin told Natalie Winters. "That said, any Republican member that would side with Democrats is basically committing political suicide if they decided that once Speaker Johnson was out that they would side with Democrats."
