President Trump announced on Saturday that he has proclaimed February 9th as Gulf of America Day. “I call upon public officials and all the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities,” Trump said in the proclamation. Last month, he signed an executive order directing the interior secretary to take all appropriate steps to rename the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America.
